Happy Halloween and The Jamaican Boobsled Team!

Darius and I went to New Castle, Indiana for his high school reunion in late September. I love his home town. Seems like it would have been a great place to grow up.
Happy Halloween! Our apartment threw an insane Halloween party! Free entrance, 5 free drinks, a band, a DJ, magician, and psychic. We were entertained all night! The place was decked out!

Bat girl and a Smarty Pants!

I decided to crew the Susan G. Komen 3 Day this year. It was neat to be on the other side of the walk...it is a totally different experience. As a walker last year I had no idea how much work went into the behind the scenes stuff so that the walkers could have a good experience.
Each of the 3 mornings I was up at 4:15am, met my crew at camp, where we then took a van together to our Pit stop. We were in charge of Pit Stop 1 which is about 2-3 miles into the walk each day. The Pits had country themes this year and we were Jamaica! We put up and broke down the Pit Stop each day because it was at a different location each day. Everything we needed was in the Pit Can which. We put up the western shelters (the pink tents) set up the food and hydration stations, decorated like Jamaica, all before the walkers came at around 7-8am. Usually they were gone by 9:30 and we would clean up and put everything back in the pit can.
Later we would eat lunch, be walker stalkers and cheer them on, head over to cheering stations and cheer more. It was a great experience! Everyone on my crew was awesome!
The Pit Can!

Me and sisters Sheila and Pat. Sheila is from Oregon and Pat is from California. Both are breast cancer survivors! Pat an 8 year survivor and Sheila a 3 year survivor.

Walkers resting! Day 3 I was in charge of giving a sticker to every walker who came to our Pit. Walkers love stickers! Who doesn't?
