The Breast Cancer 3-Day--November 13-15, 2009
Well, I did it! I walked 60 miles and I still can't believe it (and only have 2 small blisters)! Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me (I could not have done the walk without you guys!) and thank you to my fellow team mates Toby, Liz, Jody, Pam, Phyllis, Tanya, Shelly, Jessica, Janna and Sandy! You guys are the best! Thank you for your support!
The walk was amazing! I keep using that same word but I can't find any other word to describe it. Darius drove me to the Opening Ceremony early Friday morning and after I shed tears during the speaker's moving speech, we were on our way! Along our journey there were so many members of the community cheering us on (some dressed up in pretty creative costumes as you will see) and on Day 2 the Basha High Cheerleaders met us at Pit Stop 1! Here are some pictures, okay a lot of pictures from these unforgettable 3 days.
I dedicated my walk to Barabara Gomes, Tina Petruccelli, and Diane Sechak.
Opening Ceremony!
Janna, Tanya, Toby and me
Liz at Pit 2!
Sandy and Phyllis met us at the first cheering station on Day 1! Our own personal cheerleaders!
We met the caboose near the end of day 1. Could it be because we stopped at Starbuck's or because Toby was stopping to pet all of the dogs? :) It's okay Toby.
Our Safety Monitors dressed up too!
Warm greetings from Tanya after our 20 miles!
Camp!

Day 2! Ready for the rain!
Day 2, Pit Stop 1--The Basha High Cheerleaders! Taya in the back is in my 6th hour class and her mom Tanya is on my team :)
These guys were on the route all three days :)
Toby wanted to pet every dog on the route! Hence, we were the caboose of the walk at a couple of points.

Lisa, with the flamingo on her head has a sister who is fighting breast cancer right now.
Jody, me, Toby and Pam!
Geared up for day 3!
Grabbing breakfast at camp before walking!
Fill'er up!

Part of the Pit Stop crew! There's Tanya on the end!

Toby, Jody and I in someone's front yard. Homes along the route either had decorated yards or some would have a stand set up at the end of their driveway with water, soda, Red Vines, Otter Pops, etc. We really appreciated them being there and their support.

This kid loved giving out High Fives!
Starbuck's on Mill. She was buying all the walkers coffee! I had to have a picture with her!
